Introducing Our New Digital Director

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Christian Garland as the new Digital Director for Horsham Learning Alliance from September 2026. This is an exciting step forward for the Trust as we continue to strengthen our digital capacity and invest in innovative approaches that benefit our students, staff and communities.

Currently IT Manager at Collyer’s, Christian’s appointment reflects the commitment to cross‑Trust staff development, ensuring that expertise is shared, nurtured, and elevated across all our partners. Having worked in IT leadership for over 25 years across legal, professional services, construction and education, Christian brings a breadth of experience to the role of Digital Director at HLA.

As Digital Director, Christian will lead the development and delivery of a Trust-wide digital strategy, shaping the future of digital learning, infrastructure, and innovation. Guided by the belief that technology should serve people, not the other way around, Christian is committed to ensuring that every digital investment delivers meaningful value, enhances teaching and learning, and ultimately improves outcomes for students

Christian Garland said:

My focus will be on building a digital strategy that delivers genuine value for HLA, one that works for staff and students, improves outcomes and is built on a foundation of robust cyber security. Technology should be an enabler, not a barrier and I’m determined to make sure that’s exactly what it becomes across HLA.”
