Governance Structure
HLA has Members, Trustees and Local Governors who all play an important role in the governance of our Trust.
Members act as guardians of the Trust’s vision and custodians of governance, holding the Trust Board to account.
The Trust Board is the accountable body responsible for setting the strategic direction and all matters relating to financial regulations and compliance reporting to the Department for Education.
Each HLA college and school has a Local Governing Body (LGB) with independent and elected Governors who have a deeper understanding of the local contextual view and the needs of their communities. Local Governors are linked to key areas such as safeguarding and work closely with the Board to ensure effective governance across the Trust.
